United Mountain Horse World Grand Championships

More than $70,000 at Stake at United Mountain Horse World Grand Championships

September 5-10, 2011 at Kentucky Equestrian Center

Horses and riders will be vying for more than $70,000 during the 11th United Mountain Horse World Grand Championships September 5-10 at the Kentucky Equestrian Center. Themed “Light Up the World,” the show will feature horses from across the United States.

“These World Championships are a celebration of a breed known for beauty, smooth gait and athleticism,” said show manager Mark Farrar. “Mountain Horses are favorites across the country as people learn more about these highly trainable and pleasurable gaited horses.”

Scheduled in conjunction with the American Gaited Mountain Horse Breeders’ Cup, the weeklong show will celebrate 11 years for United Mountain Horse Inc., formed by members of the existing breed associations who were interested in having an organization especially dedicated to unifying all Mountain Horses.

“Today, UMH supports and educates all Mountain Horse breeders, exhibitors, trainers and horse enthusiasts,” said UMH President Judy Brummer.  “True to its founders’ intent, UMH Inc. is an organization where all can showcase their registered Rocky Mountain, Mountain Pleasure, American Gaited Mountain and Kentucky Mountain Horses in unity. UMH is proud to support a part of the living history of Kentucky by promoting this native Kentucky gaited horse.”
